Tybee Island 2011

For our end of summer vacation this year, we decided to go to a quaint beach town about 4 1/2 hours away from home. It is located 20 minutes from Savannah, Georgia and is named Tybee Island.
So, as we arrived we decided to hit a local restaurant named, "Sharky's." It was pretty good. The thing we realized is that an hour to an hour and a half wait is pretty normal at this beach town. Rob and I had fried seafood and were pleased with our choices. The kids chose not to partake of the yummy shrimp and scallops, and chose chicken fingers and cheeseburgers instead. BORING!!!

The beach house we stayed at was quite retro. It was original to the 1950's and had the matching tv, stereo system, windows, kitchen, and bathrooms to match. Even though I was not too happy with the accommodations upon arrival, they actually grew on me the longer we stayed there. Don't get me wrong though... I definitely think we'll chose a different place to stay next time.

And so was our first day at Tybee Island.
