I JUST LOVE CHANGE!!

Okay...for all of those who truly know me- I've always been told that I just love change. I've always disagreed with that because I suppose I thought of that as a bad thing. However, it is not always bad. Just think of what life would be like without change- big and small. Here are the top 5 changes in my life right now.

1) Addison is getting too smart for her own good. We are actually meeting with her teacher tonight to see if she can be tested for the gifted and talented at her school. She is whizzing through her spelling words, her knowledge of government is unreal, and math seems to come very easy to her. The other day we were doing homework and I tried to explain algebra to her. She actually got it! I was amazed.

2) My political involvement...and desire to know more. I have NEVER been into politics. Recently, I have been consumed with Fox News and the upcoming election. My daughter, Addison, is insanely obsessed with Sarah Palin. She is her role model-largely in part to Rob's persuasion.

3) It's Freezing!! I've always been a creature of comfort. Recently we received an ENORMOUS energy bill due to Tae putting the pool heater up to 99 degrees and us not noticing for a few days!! Anyway- because of this we've been trying to keep our electric bill low. To do that- we've been going with no heat. It is maybe 40 degrees outside and still 60 degrees in the Ro house. I know we're crazy, but as long as you bundle up, it's actually kind of nice. The kids all of a sudden became more cuddly. :)

4) Taesun. Enough said. He is growing at alarming rates and just came out of his terrible two's stage, which means I'll never have to go through that again. Sad, but awesome.

5) Relief Society- We recently got a new presidency and I am loving it! Sis. N. is now in and she is wonderful, compassionate, and fun all rolled into one! What a blessing she is to our ward.

I DON"T WANNA!!!

Okay...so here goes the whining. My sister, Whitney was supposed to come down from Dayton to give me a haircut/color today. She had her phone on silent, didn't answer, and when she finally did- she told me that it HAS to be laundry day for her because she has NO CLEAN UNDERWEAR!! Gross me out! Anyway, I also have to do a STUPID open house today which normally I wouldn't mind doing, but check this out...

TOP 3 REASONS THE OPEN HOUSE IS A BAD DEAL:
1) It's a CONDO which has a security door, which means that I have to sit outside in the freezing cold as to not miss anyone who happens to come by. (QUICK SIDENOTE: The house above is obviously not the condo I'll be holding open. It's the closest pic I could find in my files. Actually, it is where we lived in La Grange.)
2) It's been listed for 227 days, which isn't as bad as the real truth...the statistics that only Realtors can see...It's been on the market for like 2 years!
3) Did I mention that it's THURSDAY NIGHT FROM 5-7????? Like anyone is going to come check out an open house in the middle of the week, at dinner time, on like the coldest day of the year so far?! This sucks!

Okay...enough with the whining. I'll get over it. But seriously, I think I'm going into escrow and not touching real estate for quite some time! I'm so burnt out.

School Days!!

For one hour every other week, I volunteer at the kids' school, Shirley Mann Elementary. We love this school. It is great! Parental involvement is very high and so are academic scores. The teachers are amazing and the safety of our children is of utmost importance to the staff. What I've been doing at the school is volunteering to help out in the Library. This is of course when students are coming in as a whole class and checking out books, so it can get a little crazy. Overall, I help students check in/out their library books and put books away on the shelves once they are checked in. I am very impressed with the kids overall. They are very polite and respect the adults that are helping out.
Today, after my library help time, I went into Addison's class to give the teacher some forms that needed to go out to the students today. The kids were in centers and were busy, so Mrs. Wetter and I got a chance to talk. She told me that she is in need of a parent to volunteer to do Junior Achievement this year starting in December. I felt the need to help out. I am not sure if I felt pressured or if I just get so excited about the possibility of teaching the students that I just can't resist.
Anyway- what I'll be doing is for one hour/week for 5-6 weeks starting in 2009, I will be teaching Addison's class all about the outside world. Jobs, government, money, etc. I am not sure how qualified I am, but I truly believe in the program and I will get to teach the students! This is like a dream come true!! I think about going back to school once Tae is in full day school, to become a teacher. The only problem is that I am not so keen on the Teacher's Union and how liberal the school system has become. Who knows? Only time will tell what I end up doing. (By the way, I am thoroughly enjoying being home with the kids, so I'm not too eager to prepare to work again.)

Fun Picture Blogging Game

Okay so for this blogging game, you need to post a blog using one of your own pictures. Open My Picture file and choose the fourth folder in there. Then find the fourth picture in that file and post it! Let everyone know where, when, what, and who is in the picture and enjoy!!

MY PICTURE: The above picture was taken in Buckner, KY when Rob and I lived in Oldham County- La Grange to be exact. (Yes, that is where the state pen is...) Addison is in the pink shorts in the background. She played in the 4-5 yr old league through the YMCA. She loved playing and will probably get involved again shortly. Rob actually coached the team and couldn't get enough of all the little kiddos playing soccer....or just plain playing! I was always cheering on the sidelines with Jenna and prego with the Taesun monster!! What fun raising the kids in Oldham County. I miss my friends from there and my real estate career from there as well. It was hoppin!! Hope you all enjoyed a glimpse into our past.

New Pics of Me!!

This is more what I looked like in high school... Same smile, same hair color, etc. (Only 3 babies later:-) )
Here is what I more or less look like now... Glasses, hair pulled back 90% of time, etc.
Question is: Glasses.....
....or contacts? PS: This is my goofy pic- and my hair looks incredibly short here... Oh well. It's all I had to post. Life is pretty boring right now. Don't get me wrong! I am thrilled to have a boring life- finally!! Taesun is crazy as ever, but manageable. Jenna is still a firecracker, but is gone at school for half a day everyday during the week. Addison is starting to get those crazy pre-teen attitude spiffs that constantly need adjusted, but is smart as a whip and loving school!! Rob is BUSY and seems to always be working. When he is not working though, you bet he is either at band practice or spending time with us. He is such a good dad and hubby. I am volunteering at the school, working on the music for the Primary program that is in 3 weeks, and trying to do odd jobs to make some extra cash from home. Also, cleaning the house, laundry, and dishes seem to be taking over any amount of "free time" I may have. I am just thankful that my family is getting old enough to help out around the house now and old enough to do fun activities on the weekend!

Dance Recital 2008

These are my babies at their dance recital. How adorable are they?! I loved every minute of this. Watching them dance made my heart flutter and almost skip a beat. Enjoy!

These are some old photos I ran across. Too cute to not include on the blog. Jenna is graduating from Ft Michell Baptist Church Preschool. This is from Spring 2008. She's so cute, and we were so proud!

You Better Run...

"You better run..." says Daddy."I'm gonna git ya sucka!" exclaims Tae.
The news starts pouring in... "Alert! Alert! There is an armed dangerous criminal on the loose! Watch out and do not try to capture the criminal yourself. Just call America's Most Wanted with any information..."

Peace at last in the Ro House! The boys called a truce. Phew!

Backyard

I am surely going to miss entertaining in our backyard once summer is over. I feel like it is really coming to an end with Labor Day right around the corner! Rob and I bought this canopy at the beginning of summer to help reduce the heat on the deck. It really works! It is about 5-10 degrees colder under the canopy then in the yard. We have a backyard that faces west and gets all the afternoon sun, so without the canopy, it could be quite uncomfortable. We're going to keep the pool open until October for the kids. They are going to die when there is no more swimming!

Laundry Room or Dining Room?

This is my new function of my dining room table. Every day when the girls get home from school, I ask them to take up the laundry. I help put it away...they just carry it up and put it in the appropriate areas. The girls put away their own laundry and I do the rest. The door in the background is our front door, so as you could guess, this is not ideal. It isn't a very pretty view for when company comes. I am thinking of another way to do this, but space is so limited in our laundry room. Hmmmm. Any suggestions?
This is the "new" china cabinet I purchased off of Craigslist about a month ago. Rob detests it claiming it is ugly, but it functions properly and is made of solid wood. I only spent $60 and picked it up and moved it myself using the back of the van with three kids in it from Colerain! The hutch part on top is removable if I ever get a better china cabinet. I can always use the bottom portion to store things in. It is very nice. What do you think? Ugly or ok because of practicality? PS: The china displayed inside is a wedding present from Rob's mom and dad. The china belonged to Rob's Mom's Mom (so Rob's Grandma). It is quite antique and very pretty and delicate. I am so fortunate to have a complete china set that I like. Thanks Mom Ro!!
This was the first day of school at Shirley Mann Elementary this year. What was neat about this year was the amount of families that had both parents at the bus stop to see their kids off. I think every family (6 in all) had both parents there! It is so neat to see parents taking an active role in their children's lives. Rob and I are always arguing to see who gets to take the girls to the bus stop. We both end up going and bringing Tae with us. He loves seeing the school bus come to pick up his sisters, although he prefers to see the bus drop off his sisters because he misses them.

I had a hard day the first day of school. My day usually is filled with dancing and singing girls and a little guy following them around trying to catch up with his sisters. It is always noisy in my house. For the past five years, I've always had at least two kids at home to take care of. Now with the girls both gone in the morning- it is soooo quiet. I didn't know how to deal with that the first day, so Tae and I went shopping. We got some socks for the girls and some more hairbands. Also- I had to replace my makeup since Tae got into it a few days beforehand. Little boys are so different than girls. I could always catch the girls in time before they made too big of a mess, but little Tae is always surprising me with how quickly he can make a mess! He is rather good about it. I'll have to take a picture the next time so you all know what I'm talking about.

Overall, school went great. The girls both love their classes and their teachers. I am rather impressed with Addi's teacher although I am not too fond of Jenna's yet. Hopefully things will improve. Bottom line- we made it through without tears!!

Kincaid Lake Camping 2008!

So everyone... We did it! We actually took a chance and went camping with a 2 1/2 year old boy!! And the best news is that we made it with only minor injuries! Rob was the only one hurt with a stiff neck from the bad sleeping arrangements and he got a hook in his finger. Ouch! We had tons of fun and were able to bring along my mom, dad, and sister,Lindsay. We had a blast. We rented a pontoon boat and got to play with sticks and stones. We also ate dinner last night by cooking over the fire. (We just had hot dogs, cheesy metts actually, but they were good!) The kids had tons of fun sleeping with Aunt Lindz in their very own tent. The girls actually slept through the night. Tae slept with us in our tent and wanted to cuddle in the middle of the night. He was so cute though, no one could get irritated about it. He is my "momma's boy"-loving to cuddle with his momma every night! Check out the pictures. This was our last "hurrah" before the girls start school on Monday!!

My hubby, the Rockstar, is becoming soooo good on his bass!! I am so proud of him and watching him play out with his current band, LuLu's Closet, is a blast. His next gig is on Saturday at 7pm at Five Seasons Country Club in Edgewood, KY. We are going to take the kids to this one for at least an hour. If you can make it, come on out! It's a private party for the employees there, but if you want to hear his band, you can come to listen quietly in the back. That's what we're doing since most of the time we can't bring the kids to the venues that Rob plays at.

Taesun!!

Cute pictures of Taesun!!Enjoy!

My baby girl, Addison, went to school on a bus by herself last year for the first time. I was so proud of her. She was fearless. Also, she was sooooo cute! We can't wait to send Jenna to school with her this year! Stay posted...

This is by far my favorite picture of Taesun and his Daddy! These are chocolate "pirouttes". (candies) Rob gave Taesun one, and pretended to light it with a match. Ha Ha Ha!!!

My little man, Taesun, is so great. He is adorable in every picture we take of him. Look at those glasses! Also, look how much his sisters love him. Even though we may have sibling rivalry like most families do... they are all pretty well-behaved!

Jenna and Addison's Preschool Graduation

My cute little girls were so adorable in their preschool graduation. They attended Anchorage Presbyterian Preschool in Anchorage, KY. It was a small town that was loaded with parents with money. That was a different environment for Rob and I. We did choose that school based on their curriculum and staff. It far outweighed other local preschools. Also shown here is a great little family picture when we still live in Louisville.
